Sofya Zeylikman is an avid tinker-er, maker, designer, and educator. In 2016, she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Furniture Design at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). While a student, she was involved with the STEM-STEAM club and found her calling teaching workshops on paper circuits to grades 3-5. She also worked as a Design Coach for Brandeis University’s Design Lab where she coached and taught high school students the Design Thinking process. After graduation, Sofya worked at Yale University as a Design Fellow at Yale’s Center for Engineering Innovation and Design. There, she trained hundreds of students on 3D printing and laser cutting, developed workshops, and coached members from all disciplines on how to make their ideas and designs come to life. Sofya is attending Harvard Graduate School of Education for her Master’s in Education and hopes to continue to work in the intersection of Science, Art, and Education.
